The story

As a kid I had always dreamed of owning a wrx. My motivation really came from people telling me, a 12 year old little girl, that I’d never be able to afford a car like that. Well, here I freaking am! I walk out of my house every morning and look at my cute little wrx sitting in the driveway... behind my pearly white 2004 sti. I’m really living the life! Well, I kind of am now.. but I wasn’t. Yes, I was motivated to prove people wrong, but in reality; my painful past was my real motivation. I had tons and tons of friends, I was the happy kid. I loved hyping people up, brightening their days, making them laugh... but who was doing that for me? I felt so lonely once my head hit my pillow at the end of each day. I was a kid, contemplating suicide, not because of her family, not because of her friends, but because of a war going on in her head that she just couldn’t understand. A kid that couldn’t get help simply because “who believes a kid when they say they’re sad? Just give them a cookie and they’ll be fine!” No. My feelings as a child were thrown to the deep end of the pool and never really looked at again. That later led to a suicide attempt in my preteen years.. then a lot of partying and nights crying in my late teen years. Now, at 20– I’m still suffering. But the thing that’s truly kept me going all these years has been my wrx. I’ve poured my heart into this car. People laugh at me when I say it’s my best friend, but who was there for me when I was nearly dying? A dream. Who was there for me when I felt the loneliest? My car. What has saved my life these past few years? Late night drives. I believe the car community is a magical thing. We all have our backstories, some worse than others. But I’m sure we can all admit our cars have been there times where we have had nobody.
